Back in Punta Gorda

I guess the only explanation for not posting anything in almost two weeks is that I was so overwhelmed by our last dolphin encounter that everything else pales in comparison!  Not buying it?  I don't blame you, but the truth is less than exciting.

Sam has gone back to Vancouver, but not before we could cycle along the waterfront, introduce her to the tiki bar, and visit one of the tackier restaurants in town for a fabulous burger and live blues.

Michael and I made a lightning trip to Scottsboro to pick up our van - flight to Atlanta, rental car to Scottsboro, pick up the van and trailer (for the small boat), quick visit with a few folks on the dock, convoy back to Altlanta to drop off the rental car, then south on I75 to Punta Gorda.  We were exhausted, and took a couple of days to recover.

We have had several days of high winds, which rock the boat even here in the marina, and lower than normal  temperatures.  It's nice having transport now, as we can venture a little farther afield for shopping, restaurants, etc.

We did have an amazing dining experience at The Perfect Caper, here in Punta Gorda.  The food was amazing, the atmosphere casual yet refined, and the service impeccable.  We will definitely return, and would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary, and definitely a cut above anything else we have had anywhere in Florida!

We are coming closer and closer to the end of our time here, and will be returning to Canada for summer by the end of April.  But until then, we will continue cruising this "other west coast".
